“You can have it all, just not all at the same time.”― Betty Friedan
So you’re saying there’s a chance? Well, not quite.
There is no such thing as having it all, but you can have different things at different times. The women you see who look like they are doing it all at once are either doing it with a crap ton of help, or they are absolutely out of their minds, or something is slipping that they won’t admit.
So, how can you have it all? Make a list or a vision board of all the things you hope for in your life. Engage in an exciting and fulfilling career where you make a ton of money? Enjoy a marriage filled with mutual love and respect? Explore the farthest corners of the world? Train to become an Olympic curler? Grow your own rhubarb and master the art of making the perfect rhubarb pie? The list can go on and on, and you can probably fit all those achievements IN SOME CAPACITY and AT SOME POINT in your lifetime.
This is where you get to practice a little patience, keep adding to that list as dreams arise, and check in on it from time to time. Your time is like that rhubarb pie, and you can slice it up how you choose. Sometimes one area demands a bigger slice, but then it shifts. Periodically revisit how you are slicing up that pie to see if it’s time to change the portions!
